Breed: Yorkie Mix
Gender: Female

Misty is from a hoarding case in Athens. She is very affectionate and submissive. At first, Misty would submissive tinkle when she was picked up, but that seems to be disappearing as she has gotten more comfortable in her foster home. She is wonderful in her crate and working on house training. She is only 7lbs, and she is looking for a lap to keep her warm. Is it yours?

Breed: Shih Tzu Mix
Gender: Male

Fernando is from a hoarding case in Athens. He is very sweet and loves to be with his person. His missing hair is from a flea allergy and seems to be growing back in nicely. It may never grow back 100%. He is wonderful in his crate and working on house training. At only 11lbs he may be the perfect lap dog for you!

Dog- Chiquita

Breed: Chihuahua
Gender: Female

Update 9/6/11 Chiquita has had her share of bad luck but we’re hoping to find a special person to change it. She was adopted for a second time in June and had settled in with her new family. Unfortunately they had a financial crisis and lost their home so she is back again. It is truly her turn to find a forever home.

Chiquita is about 4 yrs old and is probably what is called a Deer Chihuahua. She should weigh around 12 pounds but is a little overweight right now. She was adopted for a while but her adopter became very ill and had to return her and she came back with a couple of extra pounds which we have been working on taking back off. She loves to walk though and would make a great walking companion which would also help her get her figure back. She also enjoys playing with toys and the other dogs. She first came to us last Oct as a shy scared girl who would snap when frightened. She does well with her own people once she settles in and is very affectionate. She just needs to know her boundaries but she is not a dog for young children. She was heartworm positive when she came to us but has been treated and is now on preventative. She would be a great dog for an older person who is looking for a companion.

Dog- Pogo

Breed: Chihuahua
Gender: Male

Pogo is a great little guy. We’re guessing him to be between 3 and 4 years old and he loves to play. He does well with other dogs and is friendly but can be nervous and a little reactive around strangers so we would not recommend a home with young children. Once he gets over his shyness he is a very affectionate boy. He came from a hoarding situation in Jasper county.
