Easy Ways to Help COFAS

To learn more about the following ways in which you may help out COFAS, please contact us at info@cofas.org!

  • Foster Homes

COFAS needs foster families to offer temporary care to dogs and cats waiting for adoption. Veterinary care is provided as is food for foster animals and any necessary crates, bowls and supplies. All we need from you is a loving home!

We prefer foster parents who will be able to drop off and pick up their fosters for adoption events in either Loganville or Athens (of course you’re always welcomed to stay with us during the adoption events, too!).

  • Donations

Even with discounted medical care and supplies, it costs us about $100 to rescue, foster and adopt out each healthy pet. However, most pets that come to us are anything but healthy. We also have animals in our care that have undergone medical procedures or treatments, which can easily cost hundreds more. We are always in need of donations!

In addition to monetary donations, we could always use:

  • pet food
  • crates (wire and collapsable are the easiest but we can use them all!)
  • towels
  • leashes and collars in working condition
  • capstar, revolution for flea and tick control and prevention
  • treats and toys for dogs and cats
  • gift cards to Petsmart, Petco and Pet Supplies Plus to help us buy supplies
  • Gift cards to gas stations to help lower the operating costs of our weekly adoption events
  • A Cargo Van or Minivan

If you could see the adoption team load up their personal cars with pets, crates and supplies for adoption days, we wouldn’t need to explain why we desperately need an official COFAS vehicle! Donations are tax-deductible. We will gladly thank any business or businesses that help us reach this goal by listing their names on the bus or van.

  • Volunteer

Of course! We could use help at adoption days and fundraisers Community Outreach page for more information. If you have experience or are a motivated fundraiser, we are in special need of your help! We also need drivers to transport pets from animal control offices as well as to and from vet visits. We welcome volunteers 18 years or older unless accompanied by an adult.
