Meet Clint! He is an adorable short hair “blue” kitty, about 10 weeks old as of January 23. Clint was born with a deformation of his rib cage and sternum that is very rarely seen and unfortunately doesn’t usually have a good long term prognosis. The rib cage is actually curved into the chest and doesn’t allow the heart and lungs enough space to function properly. There is a chance that as he ages, his body will compensate and he may have a fairly normal, though shortened life span. Right now we are hoping to find a very special person or family who would be willing to give this boy a home for whatever time he may have left. He is surprisingly very active and gets along great with other cats and even dogs. We would suggest older children only, just because of his more delicate rib cage. All of our foster homes have multiple cats and/or dogs going in and out, and this is too much activity for little Clint. Because of his deformity, he cannot be put under anesthesia at this time, so he will not be neutered until he (God willing) reaches the age of about 6 months. He has however been tested negative for feline leukemia/Aids, had his booster shot, deworming and flea prevention. We would also get him back to our vet for his neuter surgery once he is old enough. If you think you might be that special someone with the strength to give little Clint a happy home, please let us know! We also would glady accept any donation towards his medical care. He has had a couple of x-rays in addition to his normal vet care, and he may have additional costs down the road. Thoughts and prayers are also appreciated!
